I believe the intention of not moving too much beyond jul 06 , may be to make some spill over benfit happen to EB3 also. If they open the gate for EB2 now, lots of 485 application may come in and there may not be spill over to EB3. :)

I have applied for 485 on July 23rd. Received EAD and AP but I have not received Finger Printing notice so far. I tried calling the 1800** number but could only hear the recorded message.
My case was indeed transferred from California to Texas on September 20th.

Lets say my H1b renewal is pending..while its pending I used EAD for a diff company than my sponsoring company( I will be with my Sponsoring company but in bench). Then my H1b gets approved. Can I still work with a diff company till I choose to go out to stamp for H1b and once am in US i can start working for my sponsoring company again?

Was this at TSC, mine is at NSC. My First I140 was approved, My company refiled after acquisition (successor in interest) and later upgraded to Premium

I think you can just let Buffalo processing center about your spouse details. you might have to fillup some forms. My advice is to add your spouse before approval. I think after approval, you have to apply for canadian PR for your wife separately as a "family" class and for that I think you need to stay in canada to show a canadian adress (I am not sure though). I have one friend who is a canadian citizen did the same think for his wife. It took only 6 months from buffalo center...

Now a days I am seeing lots of questions asked by new members. If you have some mechanisms to show whether they have registered with valid data or fake data would help the other members who spend time in answering those questions.

You may want to know the pros and cons. If you want your baby to deliver in US, you can try visitor visa route I guess,,,not sure if it allows dependent child to stay with you more than 1 year.
Or best - wait for baby and deliver him after getting citizenship :-)
Or check with Angie Jolie/ Bradd Pitt couple..they must have tried all the above and more alternatives ;-)

Iam starting this new thread so that people will know what are the pros and cons leaving a company once GC is approved.
1.What are all the things to be noted while leaving the company after getting GC.
2.To be specific how long a consultant should be with company after GC is approved.
3.Also once GC is approved and if the consultant is off the payroll for say 2 to 3 months will there be any problem while filing for citizen ship.

Applied (E-filed) on 4/19/2010 LUD on 4/26/2010 received receipt notice in a week.So far no finger print notice . I did received finger print twice in the past when I applied for EAD even though they took finger prints for I-485.
I heard that finger prints obtained at port of entry will be good for other immigration related applications.

I think in 2000 some of the unused visa's are recaptured and allocated.

You probably won't get a FP notice if you have done biometrics done before for I-485.
So may just have to wait for approval.
