You might be right. Check the response senator got from USCIS on Aug 6th. I was later approved on Aug 16th.

In reviewing the August Visa Bulletin, it does appear that visas will be available after August 1st for these employment-based adjustment cases. In reviewing the electronic records, it does appear that the contractor has placed these cases in a location where they will be pulled and sent to an officer. We are unable to request the files be moved to an Adjudications Officer because our Records Division is running an electronic sweep to pull the files with available visas. Files will be pulled through this sweep and sent to an Officer. We are generally processing about 4000 employment-based cases a month and the cases with available visas are being pulled through these sweeps.

Guys, any update on your FP notices? I have written to ombudsman almost 3 weeks ago about not receiving FP notices and nothing yet...
What are you guys thinking as next step?
No update from my side. I had called last week and week before that. Apparently I got the same IO the last two times and first time she told me no FP scheduled , security check cleared. Second time she said no FP scheduled and I asked about security check and she said its still pending. Imagine same IO giving inconsistent information regarding my security check. I am not even sure to believe anything they say anymore. I am not even sure if they really look it up or not.

Technically under which conditions and criteria Eb1 and Eb2 would be applicable?
Because you still have the following still not a part of the exemption:
EB1 or Priority Workers : Multinational Executive or Manager
Employment Based Second Preference (EB2) : "aliens of exceptional ability."

another story:
i have a close friend who has been here since 1991 with no GC. he came for his undergraduate studies in 1991..finished that...got a good job...met a girl...got married...girl was also an undergrad here then went to grad school...then lost his job..girl was still in school...lost almost everything
then he built his life back..got a job....started working his way up...girl graduated..worked in a small company and then changed jobs..started gc process for the 3rd time...luckily got ead and ap....girl changed jobs...bought a house...retrogression happened....and hes still waiting
can u beat that...hes been here for 16 years.
putting off decisions is very easy when it comes to gc...many times u just need to bite the bullet and live ur life. dont get me wrong.. i have put off getting my h1b stamped for over 3 yrs...havent been out of the country for 5 yrs...now i have decided its not worth it and will do it sometime this yr.

NSC's receipting up-date is like fooling us around. It seems to me that if they touched one application with a date - July 24 - then it will declare in the Receipting up-date that it is already processing July 24 cases and yet, they are not yet finished with July 2 to 23 applications.

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
A: I suggest you to have a trip in India and visit some places like Dharavi,

You will see lots of souls in a such condition, you will start feeling better.
I would not say this is nice way to feel good but that is the qucikest thing
I can think of. What I mean to say is do not feel hopeless as you are in a
way better condition than millions. And those millions have not lost hope
and faith. Yes, you do not have GC so I also do not have GC. I do not
have assets like what Bill Gates or Anil Ambani has. So now I get a good
reason to depress and feel hopeless. Should I start feeling depressed?
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
Ans: World history is full of events when people have done and made success
against all odds. Have confidence and faith in yourself. Stand up to
challenge the problems and entities who impose the problem on you.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.

Did anyone get their physical Cards without getting CPO message ?
I have recd the I-797C Approval notice on the 11th but I have not recd the physical cards as yet. BTW I did not get any welcome e-mail or CPO mail - I directly got 485 Approval e-mail and that is all.
you may want to make sure "CRIS" emails are not going in SPAM folder. I had the same case (not for 485 :-) , i have long way to go) for my EAD and AP renewals.

People, the bill is called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform". It can only be comprehensive if it takes into account the legal population and the illegal population. This bill could not come at a better time for us with the mid-term elections coming up. The Executive Branch of Government is pressuring for passage of this legislation. It will be a huge issue for the mid-term elections. The Republican House is in a no win situation, passage means amnesty (their words, not mine) and non-passage makes them look ineffective. For now all we can do is sit back and wait and watch. It will take the majority of the house spin doctors a while to figure out how to proceed with maximum benefit for the Republican Party. This is the nature of politics.
For a little entertainment, we can always predict next months visa bulletin! (Sorry, I couldn't resist).

Let's NOT be hypocrites. We are just venting out our frustrations of these never ending Visa Bulletin life...
We all know that we respect each other and value much more than these occasional emotional outbursts. Donors or Non Donors, USCIS treats us as same shit.
My take would be, if people want to Donate or find that their Donation could help their cause, they will Donate. We can only request people to Donate and put forth our 'Selling points', which I think Pappu, Ameya and others are doing it already.
Please don't stoop down to the level of hating each other on the basis of 'Donor' Vs 'Non-Donor'.
I honestly, think IV should rename that to 'Paid member' or 'Privileged' or 'Subscriber', IMHO, it's NO DONATION. People Donate because they expect something in return...we all want other to donate so that we can have bigger impact, but this is definitely NOT the way to go about it.

The lud happened on 7/27/2008.

Absolutely agree :) However, keep in mind that if one door is closed because of not getting/delay in getting GC, there are other options too.
A good example is EAD & AC21 for people who do not want to stagnate in their careers. Now you might say that using AC21/EAD has risks, but then remember the old adage "no risk, no gain".
If we expect life to hand us everything on a silver platter, and get depressed if that does not happen we just ruin our happiness & peace of mind.
