With this issue of priority date taking a back seat to notice date when dates are current :
While it is frustrating to the people with older priority dates (including me); it could very well be that USCIS is approving people with later priority dates sooner because its simply easier for them to do so. I really hope that this trend does not last beyond Aug-Sep. And in October, for EB2 - I, there is still a good likelihood that for people with priority dates < 2004, dates may still be current. So they can very well be approved from Oct onwards. So if I have to sacrifice a few months of waiting time to make sure visa numbers dont go wasted. I am prepared to do so.
Also it is very likely that people with older priority dates have a longer history in the US. So USCIS might need more time correlating all entry/exit time stamps, making sure we were in status all this while; but a person with 2006 priority date might have entered the US in 2005 & so less history to check.

But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.

Hello all,
My I-485 and EAD applications were delivered on July 18th at the TSC. Since then, I have not heard from USCIS until this evening, when to my delight, I received the EAD card in my mailbox!
May I know if the EAD receipt # is the same as the I-485 receipt number? I tried to check my case status online with the receipt # on my EAD card but the only information I could see was for Form I-765. Could somebody please clarify this?
My attorney isn't the most helpful person and she has been silent ever since I filed the I-485 & EAD. Also, she issued her own firm's checks to USCIS for the filing of these documents so I don't know if the checks were cashed (and therefore, cannot check for the receipt notice on the back of the check). I intend to call her t'row.

I have a question reg. the unfair vertical spill devised by USCIS when allocating the visa numbers after the initial allocation is completed.
If the country needs EB1 categories first then the EB2 categories and then EB3 then why did they allocate equal numbers to all the three categories initially. If they needed more EB1 or EB 2 compared to EB 3 numbers they should have given 3x of numbers to EB1, 2x of numbers to EB2, and only 1x or less than that to EB3 when doing the initial allocation itself.
Its only due to some genius person's invention that USCIS decided to implement vertical spill over instead of doing a hoirzontal spill over of the numbers which will be fair.
Now the EB2 folks are going to comeback and say that EB2 deserve more rights and all that blah blah aka the fight people give whenever somebody tries to remove the unfair quota system in India. Grow up and behave like an educated person.
You can say that EB2 folks earn more... give me a break I know many EB3 folks who earn atleast 2 times more than whan an average EB2 guy earns. Its just a matter of luck(in the current scenario) that a person got applied in EB2 or EB3 category

The EB category was not some boon, your HR manager, your lawyer, your manager came together and made the decision, last but not least your agreed to all this. I guess one strategy would be only to file for principal applicants, get green cards, become citizens and then sponsor dependents would be a faster route than waiting through the EB route:) Just kidding.

Madam Rice is trying to divert the issue by telling skilled professional from all over the world wants to come here....This is not the issue.....
Issue is there are thousands of high skilled professional with approved labor and I-140 , waiting for years to file I-485.... DOS told then on 13th June that you all can file I-485 and all of the sudden on 2nd July 07 DOS said we can't accept your application...
So madam secretary it's not issue of how many high skilled professional wants to come here. Infact DOS/USCIS/Govt. of US need to think how life is tough for those high skilled professional who already came here and waiting for years to get green card through legal system....

as gc28262 has indicated, that proper analysis and the correct interpretation of the law is needed to change such matters. Unless, EB3 people come out of the lethargic content/self pity and start working on the issues as if their life depended on it (it does) - just writing to the senators and representatives will not help. The legislative offices is not going to do the analysis (in the time that matters to us) and address it to the USCIS. However, if we do the ground work and then approach them, we may have a better chance of succeeding.
Whenever EB3 asks for writing to senators and congressmen, EB2 folks will discourage, but when Eb2 wants to write to the same group everyone encourages.
Why is this pathetic response to a Eb3 guy.

I currently have a job offer from the client .
My previous company has applied in perm as Software engineer , Applications as Job Title and Job Description is PeoplesoftSoft, Peopletools ,SQR
My client would like to hire me as Peoplesoft Developer. but I am expecting a raise in salary of atleast 30%.
Would this be a problem ?
When you say Job description should be more or less same what exactly does that mean. Should it be exactly different or some minor change is ok ?
Help me out as I have to decide on the offer by weekend.

When ever IV go and seek advise from Law firm or lobby firm they charge some money. No one is giving free advise in USA. We cannot run random campaign becasue people will not participate if no out come. We need to find out perfect time. Also we , and IV are common people who came from foriegn country and have no idea of whole US immigration system but law / lobby firm do.
If you and other sincere member contribute and participate activelly we may achive something. May be just giving few USD will not help. But there were so many anti coming to site and harming our agenda. since we have donor forum few anti come there. So if you are serious do contribute and get donor status. Participate in state chapter and work with IV and all of us. That will make date current for all.

I am just trying to see if NSC could go past the I-485 received on 06/01/2007. Many folks whose application was received the first day got receipt and receipt#. Is there anyone who applied later and got the receipt or receipt#.

Firstly let me say that the Dems taking the house is the only hope I see for change near term. If the Republicans take it then they will feel vindicated on their stand and stick to it especially in view of the current unpopularity of Pres. Bush.
Democrats normally sing the tune of organised labour on such issues. Organised labour is clear that they want the immigrants that come not to be exploited. In otherwords, if you let them come then treat them well as they are now part of the labour pool. This idea has some intrinsic merit. If you analyse things, it is usually during the long drawn out protracted green card process that unscrupulous employers take the most advantage.
