As much as I appreciate the efforts that the IV core team has put in, them being so secretive, it is almost like they have formed a cabal.
I agree with ItIsNotFunny. The very least the IV core team can do is post updates on what they are up to. That way if someone believes in a particular initiative that IV is undertaking wants to help, they can contact the concerned IV core team member and offer to help.
I am sure instead of the core team trying to burden themselves with all the work, if they let individuals who believe in particular cause to help them, then life would be a lot easier for everyone. I guess that would also get more people involved with IV.
I know I am out of the rat race, so if you think I am being patronizing, my apologies.

If somebody is eligible to jump from Eb3 -> EB2, then he should be allowed to jump.
I am EB2. I had to change my job as my previous employer didnot allow me to file in EB2 as I didnot have prior experience even though i have MS from USA.
I changed my job and now I am in EB2. My PD is Feb 2008. Sucks that I missed the bus in July 2007.
Nobody should go through what I went through. If somebody is eligible to jump, then he should jump from EB3->EB2.
Considering the current delays in labour and I140 approvals, I think the entire process of filing for new labor, then I140 and the PD porting will take around 2yrs if there are no Queries. :p
Unless somebody's PD is mid 2006 or 2007 above in EB3, I dont think this EB3->EB2 jump will be helpful. :rolleyes:

Thanks to the glorious service of the Atlanta center :mad: I missed the I-485 bus by 7 days( Labor cleared on Aug end ). Many people with later PD's got cleared from the Chicago PERM center . Now I just watch as all members get their EAD's and AP's while I wait with nothing but hope and watch legislation after legislation fail in the senate and house , and the letters flying all over the place .
Very SAD to know that you missed the opportunity to file AOS by 7 days. I know how painful it can be.
Do you know of any efforts to speed up the ATL PERM processing ? I see the graph at has a downward trend lately (less average time for approval).

That change will help IV to increase Funding ..
I will sign up for monthly recurring to IV if I see above change ..

If you have time, please feel free to write the component compatible with joomla, paypal and google-checkout to implement this. The last couple of VBs have brought out the worst amongst us, so much for together we stand, after reading the posts, it was more like 'you stand while i climb over you' :)
I started a thread couple of weeks back. It met an untimely death because of lack of participation from people. Just to revive your memory :

Today we are here almost on the verge of disintegration as an organization. And this is because we always believed in our minds that we are nothing but a bunch of opportunists coming together for our individual cause of getting a GC. What we see today is an outcome of what we always believed. Soon EB2 will disappear, and EB3 will be left alone fighting for their GC's. And at some point of time they will also go away, all that's left will be "guests" using IV as a discussion forum. May be what I suggested can be termed as "Quixotic" but unless we aim high, we will never reach high.

A GC for myself alone will never satisfy me, because number of my friends, my family members are in EB3, and I am not mean enough to celebrate for myself when majority of my friends and family members are sad.

I think you can start another job with the same job description. EAD is not tied to the employer. It is tied to you. AC21 is a blessing for us in this regard.
After 180 days, you are free and you almost got virtual GC except that you need to work in the same job description and maintain character.

This is the first receipt i am noticing for an application received on July 2nd at 7:55AM and signed by R. Williams.
All other recipts so far were either received at 9 AM or 10:25 Am or so (july 2nd, 3rd, 5th etc) but none of them were at 7:55 AM.
Please see my last post couple of pages back. I also filed on Jul 2nd 7:55AM

nothing will happen without extra GC numbers. we must fight for recapture and exemption. this move seems much too incredible to me. there are a few spillover numbers and a very large number of people waiting from 04-06. ther is no way these people are all (or even most) getting a GC in the short term.
we will end up seeing some random approvals and a lot of heartburn from many others. I truly wonder what is going on.....

What you are saying: "who can take a flight to Washington DC on Monday morning, change the law by noon to issue GC to every EB category, have a lunch at Olive Garden, come back monday evening" :
For this you need to hire full time lobbyist which costs a lot
of money. IV budget is nowhere close to that the Hispanic lobby group:
National council of La Raza whose budget is
$40 million or $1.3 billion including its “affiliates” network.
IV is a tiny organization in front of La Raza. Thats....a BILLION with full time lobbyist.
I strongly suggest you listen to the audio interview to understand how big the hispanic

I know many people have their priority dates current since past few months but still they are waiting for I-485 approval. Hope this should not be scam to issue the EAD for only a year instead of two years.
Almost two years jump is unbelievable specially we know big numbers of Perms filed during 2005 and mid of 2006.
